IDAF - Project
English & Environment & Technology

The Goal: Start, plan and lead a collaboration project with the befter (before & after the experience) method. In the course of IDAF there are at least 3 befter-steps: (1) Imagination, (2) Research, (3) Experience on Site (organizing).

13:35 - 15:00: IDAF Introduction and start

What to do / Outline

BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE AND WORK IN GROUPS

  • Form groups of two
  • Choose a topic: Preferably related to the main topic "City climate" focused on "City trees". (Introduction during lesson 1)
  • Write a post on The Horse about: What is your goal and how can it be achieved? (Categories: your class, IDAF20)
  • Get the teachers' consent
  • Formulate a working hypothesis
  • befter Step 1: Imagination
  • befter Step 2: Research
  • International collaboration: Check the project ideas on The Horse to see with which teams a collaboration would be interesting. How do you want to tackle this? Try to get in contact with the students (comment writing, communication channel?)
  • Plan steps / decide who will do what

What to do / Outline

BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE AND WORK IN GROUPS
Each group send their first representative (representative A) to interview:

  • What is your working hypothesis?
  • What are you hoping to demonstrate?
  • How are you going to do it and which tools will you use?
  • Who has done and who will do what?
  • Review and assessment of things done and still to do

Grading Criteria

  • Group mark for clarity, organization and depth of content (counts as half a mark in E&T) =>IDAF20 Assessment framework
  • Individual mark for English vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, fluency, depth of content (counts as half a mark in E)

Reminder

Each group sends a representative to interview to:

  • report on working methods used and results achieved
  • summarize the main realizations that resulted from your work
  • report on how the results of your work will impact your everyday life – if at all. Will you change some of the ways in which you have been behaving as a result of your conclusions?

IDAF V - 11/17 Tuesday * 2020

Program

11:35 - 12:20: IDAF Team Work (1 lesson) - Start of technical discussion, status of the project, results and media presentation
13:20 - 16:40 (4 lessons, H. Amplatz EN lesson 15:05 - 15:50)

What to do

Each group gives a 10 minutes (5' per student) presentation about their subject (no PP, Sway possible).

  1. State of the project so far?
  2. International collaboration engagement?
  3. Self-made media so far (Text, photo, audio, video)?
  4. befter Step 3 :: Experience (team): Contact with experts, interviews, visit on site, surveys, etc.
  5. Reflection and outlook (Where are you on a scale of 10: from start 1 to publication 10?

Grading Criteria

Group mark for clarity, organization, self-made media, presentation technique (no PP, Sway possible), depth of content, scientific discourse, persuasiveness and source accuracy (counts as half a mark in E&T)
Individual mark for English vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, fluency, depth of content (counts as half a mark in E)
