For my waste water, the ARA Esslingen und Oetwil am See is responsible. It covers 4848 people from Oetwil am See and 8888 people from Esslingen (2020). However, the size of the sewer is for 17,000 inhabitants. The ARA is in Esslingen 8133 and was founded in 1965.
The wastewater is collected via urban drainage and flows into the main sewer system. Due to the topographical location of our communities, part of the wastewater must be conveyed to the main collection sewer with the help of nine pumping stations.
Because the wastewater treatment plant cannot receive an unlimited amount of wastewater (210l/s), the municipality of Egg and Oetwil am See also have four additional rainwater retention basins at their disposal in case of large rainfalls, which can be used to collect the first wastewater accumulation.
The cleaning efficiency is 98%.

Our heating source is the geothermal heat pump. Geothermal heat pumps, sometimes referred to as GeoExchange, earth-coupled, ground-source, or water-source heat pumps, have been in use since the late 1940s. They use the constant temperature of the earth as the exchange medium instead of the outside air temperature.
As with any heat pump, geothermal and water-source heat pumps are able to heat, cool, and, if so equipped, supply the house with hot water. Some models of geothermal systems are available with two-speed compressors and variable fans for more comfort and energy savings. Relative to air-source heat pumps, they are quieter, last longer, need little maintenance, and do not depend on the temperature of the outside air.
My father told me, that for our house they drilled down 102 meters in the ground, which is very impressing.

Thermal energy is technically heat. With thermal heat we can boil liquids and with the steam you can drive a turbine. The average daily radiation power reaching the earth's surface (based on 24 hours) is approximately 165 W/m² worldwide. The use of solar thermal energy was already practised in ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and in the early South American advanced civilisations through the architecture of their buildings.
It's an ineffective type of energy production, since it only works with steam and not directly with water. Also, a lot of vapor is produced, which isn't able to turn a turbine.
Examples are solar plants or water heating roofs.

What is water?
a: a liquid
b: a solid
c: a gas
Where does nearly all off the energy in the atmosphere come from?

At the beginning we had some difficulties to decide which topic we're going to choose. However, we decided on the topic of climate-changing measures because it was the only thing that we all agreed on.
Unfortunately, no one wanted to coorperate with us. But we also think, that it would have been much more complicated to do a collaboration, because our project is based on a survey.
We didn't have any struggles to decide who's going to do what. It was also very interesting to do such a project in English.
A bit sad was, that we didn't get as much answers from our survey as we expected to. Even though we spread it in many different ways.
Although everything worked out, we couldn't get much knowledge out of our project and would choose something different next time.
But in the end, we're happy with our final result.

Hello everyone
We're looking for a collaboration partner for our project about climate-changing measures.
In our project we want to show, what people think about climate-changing measures, what they already do to implement them and even more questions. For that we made a survey. The link will be posted soon. Another big question for our project is to find out where costs would arise, if we don't do anything for our climate. We hope that an expert can answer us this specific question.
More information about our project is posted on the Horse.
A cooperation to see a different point of view would be very interesting.

What to do to stop climate change? Even with little things we can help our environment a lot. That is why we would like to change people's mindset with our project in order to help the earth. To start, we decided to take a survey to get people's opinions and to find out what they already know and do for our environment. We are going to create a German and English version of the survey, which we will post soon.

We are going to create a survey in order to find out about peoples opinions and to find out what they already know and do for our environment. Our goal is to show people, how many of them already do something for the earth.

These are our questions:
1. Von welchen Klimawirksamen Massnahmen wissen Sie bereits?
I Julian, Lukas and Livia
II How can you get people to implement climate-chaning measures?
- What do people already know about climate-changing measures?
- Where are the main costs if you do nothing for the climate?
- Why don't people implement climate-changing measures?
III Survey on climate-changing measures
Survey in german/english for every age group.
Possible questions:
- Which measures do you already know of?
- What do you already do for our climate?
- How much do you do for the climate?
- Why don't you implement certain measures? (lack of information, lack of money, lack of motivation etc.)
- What would it take you to implement those measures?
- Where do you think are main costs of doing nothing about the climate change?
Product: results of our survey + seperate post
IV We're going to create a survey on an online tool.
For the answer to the question about the costs which would arise if we do nothing, we want to ask a specialist. Who this is going to be isn't certain yet.
V Isn't certain yet.
VI It should be well structured with clear headings and texts. It should also have enough pictures for better understanding. The results of the survey and the calculations should be visible on our post.
How can you get people to implement climate-changing measures?
What is our goal?
We would like to get people to implement climate-changing measures. We want to know, why some people do not implement them and what they'd need to change their opinion. Is lack of information? Financial reasons? Do we need laws? It would also be interesting to know where the costs arise above all from doing nothing about the climate. It would be really nice if we could find someone who could answer this question.More...
