Glacier melt - Interview with Team Basque

Questions:

- How many glaciers do you have in your near?

Since 2011, the Pyrenean glaciers have lost 63 hectares of ice and some 19 million tons of water. It is more or less what a small reservoir fits. In 1850 there were 52 glaciers in the Pyrenees. In 2020 there are only 19. Their disappearance, which is expected in just 30 years, will not be an environmental disaster, as they store relatively little water.

- Which school subjects are talking about "glacier melt" in your school?

We in our school have subjects to choose from and in our case we have not chosen that syllabus, that is, biology and geology, but we have asked our classmates and they have told us that they have not studied it yet.

- Do you think that something could happen, if a glacier starts to melt interely? (Natur catastrophes like a Zunami, an earthquake...)

We believe that if the glaciers began to melt, the world would have many consequences, such as the increase in sea water levels, the disappearance of many species, and there would be much more salt water and less fresh water.

- Why do you think are glaciers melting? What's in your opinion the main reason?

We believe that glaciers are melting due to the rapidity of climate change, the reason is us because we are destroying the world by extinguishing animals.

Collaboration : Medicinal Plants

Greetings to all, this is to inform you all that we are collaborating with Anabel and Karla from Zurich and will be comparing the different types of medicinal plants and their benefits. A Whatsapp group has been formed for effective and efficient communication. Thank you so much Anabel and Karla for offering the collaboration! We are also welcoming more teams, anyone who is interested, can collaborate with us for the same
Thanking you,

Collaboration with Basque class

My questions for my collaborate meeting call on Thursday:

Task: "The Bee's and their life in climate change"

- Do you know the importance of the Bee's?

- Are there also beekeepers in Spain? Ist that a usual hobby? Do you know somebody?

- What do you think about the bee's and the climate change?

- Are you interested in my task or in a collaboration together as well? Is there a possibility to observe bee's for you? Or what kind of collaboration is possible?

What is our progress on collaborations with other teams?

We saw a post on the horse by a team from Kerala about medical plants. We thought it would be a great idea to collaborate with them, so we contacted them by commenting on their post. They luckily commented back to us and agreed to collaborate on this poject together. Now we are waiting to exchange our contact information and start to work on our project.

E-cars in cities - Collaboration

Hello everybody,

We are looking for someone who would do a collaboration with our project.
Our project is about changing the future. We want to see how our environment would change if everyone would only drive electric cars in the cities. We have already done several interviews, but we still want opinions that are not in the same country. We want to know what people think who live in a different country, where the circumstances are also different than in Switzerland.
We are also working on a survey to obtain several opinions.

We would be interested to hear other opinions.

Collaboration - Survey on climate-changing measures

Hello everyone

We're looking for a collaboration partner for our project about climate-changing measures.

In our project we want to show, what people think about climate-changing measures, what they already do to implement them and even more questions. For that we made a survey. The link will be posted soon. Another big question for our project is to find out where costs would arise, if we don't do anything for our climate. We hope that an expert can answer us this specific question.

More information about our project is posted on the Horse.

A cooperation to see a different point of view would be very interesting.

Lukas, Julian and Livia

looking for a cooperation

I am looking for a cooperation with another team.
My project investigates the traffic situation in the cities and which measures are most useful to minimise CO2 emissions.

There are some starting points which I would like to investigate.

Car free city
Fewer parking spaces or more expensive parking spaces
more bike rentals or even free bikes
severely restrict entry to the city

I would be delighted to work with a motivated team.

How about city parks in your country?

Hello Together

We are doing a project about city parks and their impact on the city climate. We want to show off how important a city park is for the environment and how many people are using them frequently. It would be really interesting if we could do a collaboration with a team which also does a project on a similar topic.

For our collaboration, we thought that it would be a cool idea when we can compare the numbers and usage of city parks in different countries. So we can see what the population of different cities think about their own city parks.
