Future scenarios of 2084 - Surveillance cameras

Podcast

Future scenario 2084

Teaser

Have you ever wondered how surveillance cameras will be used in 2084?
George Orwell asked himself the same question in 1948 and wrote a book about 1984 with his imagination, how life will be in the future.

George Orwell thought that cameras and generally monitoring will be a big part of our life’s.
We are going to compare George Orwell’s book “1984” to todays life and do the same as George Orwell. We will write down our imaginations of how life will be in 2084.

We want to research similarities and differences between security cameras and telescreens. To be even more specific, we want to focus exclusively on hidden security cameras of their existence we are unaware of.

Climate change

I found an interesting article about climate change. It mentions that our summer will last half a year by 2100. Winter it self will only be 31 days.
Our summer lasts already 20 % longer than they used to be. The problem is not just that the summer lasts longer, it will be more extreme and forestfires will be more likely.
As already mentioned scientists have already noticed that the duration of summer has grown 17 days in 50 years. And the duration of winter has shrunk by 3 days.
Scientists says that even bigger changes will come.

Publishing

Today we have to edit our text again, because the whole formation, we already did, got deleted. Another issue is that the formation we want to do will not be taken over and we have to do it again and again.

We are looking forward to finishing our project today and publish it on DON'T WASTE MY ENERGY! We hope that you enjoy reading our project.

Today's work

We updated our survey and now it is in english, so everybody can fill it out. Here is the link again: Survey: City animals
Our next step is to still do a little bit of research.
After this we can start with transfering all our information from the survey, researches and the interview into a text.

After this our project will be finished to publish on www.dontwastemy.energy

Goals and achievements of today

Goals

Today we have an interview with Mister Nagel. We hope that he can answer all our questions, so we can use them for our project.
An other goal is that we find other informations, which we can use, from researches on the internet.
At the end of the lesson we are going to summarize what we did and achieved.

Achievements

Our interview was very successful. Mr. Nagel answered our questions detailed, so we can use every single question and answer.
We also did some researches.

In conclusion we achieved our goals for today!

Animal testing

I know that some companies in different countries use animal testing with new cosmetics and lotions etc.
What I'd like to know is, in which countries is animal testing banned and not banned. Are there protests / organisations / companies against it?
And are there other options to test these things without harming animals or testing it on people?
In switzerland a well known company that is against animal testing is Lush. My idea would be to interview them about this topic.

Do people make the right decisions?

I know that...

  • ...technology improved some working steps or simplified life in a kind of way.
  • ...climate change is a important topic and all people around the world has to do something against it.
  • ...there is a lot of garbage in the sea or general in the environment.
  • ...the air is polluted.
  • ...we need to reduce the usage of plastic.
  • ...we should reduce the CO2.

I want to know...

  • ...if its really possible to stop or slow down the climate change.
  • ...what else we need to do, to save the environment.
  • ...if electric cars really better than cars with gas.
  • ...if batteries can be recycled.
  • ...if the new inventions, like electric cars, really help to reduce the burden on the environment or if in the long run the same is true.
