Cosmetics
Even in ancient times, women and men wore makeup – not just for ceremonies but also in their day-to-day lives. The earliest cosmetics recipes come from ancient Egyptian written sources. They describe the use of natural minerals that were mixed with oil, water or animal fat to produce makeup colours.
Cosmetics like its used today contain natural minerals for example natural talc and marble powder are used as the base for most products.
The micro pigments in sun creams are synthetically produced minerals such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.
For example Kleopatra used graphite for her eyeliner. She also sworn by the benefits of mashed mosquitos and donkey milk in her beauty regime.
Natural mineral pigments
Natural mineral pigments have been used in both, painting and architecture. They added binding agents to form paints.
Also rocks, earth and minerals are a big parts of the natural colour spectrum.
Various metallic bonds are used to produce colours.
Dung and fertilisers
Mineral fertilisers are used to complete the benefit of organic fertilisers, such as dung and slurry.
In mineral fertilisers are important plant nutrients contained.
Because of the increasing population growth and the rising food requirements the demand for fertilisers is on the rise.
