During this project we learned a lot about the importance of building materials. They have a big impact on the buildings but also on the environment. By using building materials like rammed earth we can safe masses of energy for other things.
We also realised how difficult it is to make environmentally friendly adjustments, as there are many individual variables in a building project.
Even though we didn't expect the complexity of this project, we managed to put together an informative project.

For the project we decided to research on organic agriculture. After spending the sessions, discussing with Eliane, we have become very aware of the numerous negative impacts we are making in our life. Through our discussions I have become more passionate on ways humans can have a better relationship with the land. Many civilizations before us knew how to live with the land without destroying it or without making as much of a footprint. I hope this publication will serve as a platform for communication across food and agricultural studies students here at while continuing to teach the community about food justice and food sustainability. We also encourage students who are studying food and agriculture.
We both think that green roofs are an important topic nowadays because there are many benefits.
When we look back on our project, we think we did a good job. At the beginning we didn't know much about this topic, but now we are definitely well informed. As mentioned before, we got instructive information through the interviews. However, in the beginning we had some difficulties to divide the work in time, but we could manage it well. Next time we think it would be better if we organize everything better at the beginning.
On the whole, we would not be here where we are at the moment without our cooperation. And the most important thing is that we enjoyed doing this project. :)

In the beginning we had alot of ideas for the topic of our project but now we are happy with the chosen topic. It was a bit difficult to find some promising sources at first. But after a few researches, we found a detailed document of the Stadt Zürich which describes our topic really good. So we asked them if we could use it and made also an inquiry for an interview.
Another difficulty was to write the text in an easy and readable way and language. We needed to explain a few foreign words to make the text understandable.
Even without a collaboration, we think that our project has enough information.
In general it was a lot of fun to work on that project and to search some information for an important topic. We think we've learned alot with this type of work and we're satisfied with the final results.
We're looking forward to the publication.
Looking back on our project we think we did a great job. We chose a topic that interested us both yet it was a topic that we still got to learn a lot of new things about. Our Teamwork and communication worked flawless:)
We guess the hardest part was trying to come up with a concept on what our article/project should include because it is such a wide based topic.
Due to the coronavirus, an international collaboration could not take place yet instead we asked our close friends for their opinions and their experience. We also received the great opportunity to interview a managing director of a company that build tiny houses here in Switzerland.
We're very happy with the end result and we can't wait to share our post with many people worldwide.
Kind regards

It was a exciting project. I never thought that I will do something like that. I think I did well in fact that I was on my own.
At first we didn't have a good project idea, but later we quickly found a topic (tree diseases and neophytes).
We searched up a lot of information and made pictures. Kevin had even conducted an interview and I created a survey for the teams from abroad.
Unfortunately, no one filled out the survey and it was a little difficult for the people from our class to understand.
We realized before our IDAF presentation that our topic was too big. We then limited ourselves to the neophytes because the topic is very current.
I then came across the topic of guerrilla gardeners and we then conducted an interview with one of the first guerrilla gardeners in Switzerland.
We learned a lot about neophytes and we hope that our contribution on DWME will bring the topic closer to others.

We both think that climate and especially the climate in big cities is a very important topic. We already knew that it looked quite bad and climate change is a concerning problem in the modern world but we have to admit that we were shocked when we found out how bad the situation really is.
We could learn a lot from making this project and most of the time it was quite interesting and fun. I think that our time-management was good and our cooperation went very well.
We have chosen the topic coral Reefs. This because corals are an important part of our lives and almost nobody knows that they are dying out. Our goal for this project is to create awareness. We all need oxygen to live, but most of us don't even know where we get our clean air from, not to mention how to keep up this standard of living. So, what we want to do is inform. So that afterwards we know how to keep our air clean.
At first, we wanted to calculate how much oxygen is produced by the coral reefs and how much by a normal tree to do a comparison. However, this has proven to be quite difficult.
In the beginning Naomi and Me had difficulties to divide the work, in order to make faster progress. But in the last weeks we have improved more and more.
Altogether on a scale from 1 to 10 we would say that we are on a 7.
But we think next time it would be helpful to organize everything more properly in the beginning.
At the beginning we had some difficulties to decide which topic we're going to choose. However, we decided on the topic of climate-changing measures because it was the only thing that we all agreed on.
Unfortunately, no one wanted to coorperate with us. But we also think, that it would have been much more complicated to do a collaboration, because our project is based on a survey.
We didn't have any struggles to decide who's going to do what. It was also very interesting to do such a project in English.
A bit sad was, that we didn't get as much answers from our survey as we expected to. Even though we spread it in many different ways.
Although everything worked out, we couldn't get much knowledge out of our project and would choose something different next time.
But in the end, we're happy with our final result.

If we are completly honest we had a lot of ups and downs during our project 'living vegan in the city'.
First, we had trouble finding a project we liked and that had something to do with the subject "city climat & city trees". Ms Sutter has told us to lay our focus on urban gardening but unfortunately an other team already had this subject, so we had to find a way around the others. When we finally had our subject "living vegan in the city" combined with urban gardening we were very happy.
We had a lot of fun creating the survey and analizing it. Also the interview with Carmen's aunt was very informative and exciting.
Unfortunately the colaboration with the teams from Antwerp didn't work out like we wanted, because theyr teacher never responded to our mail.
In the end I think Carmen and I were successfull because we learned new things about urban gardening and we had fun working at the project.
